Laundry; The Dreaded Time Waster

Why do we neglect this necessary event? Is it because of the back breaking labor it requires, to sort the laundry (and I am not anal on this either, lights and darks, that is as separate as it gets), to drag it down to the elevator, to then drag it back down the hall once you have reached 7 floors below, to load into the machines (which are so low, that anyone like me, w/ a bad back, must cry out in agony each time I kneel), then wisk them away to the dryers, and finally fold them in the laundry room (cuz thankfully the folding tables are my appropriate height). Is it the waiting time in between the washing and drying? You certainly don't have time to do anything else productive, cuz you need to be right down there when your load is finished, or the person waiting on the machine will have tossed them haphazardly to the side, or will be there waiting impatiently, tapping their feet, scowling unforgivingly. Is it the fact that if you procrastinate on the actual doing of the work, that you will be overwhelmed when you can no longer wear that pair of jeans again, cuz they can stand on their own. So you no longer have a choice. By that time, the mountain of clothes is almost laughable. I realize this is a necessity, until I can afford a maid to perform such services. But why do I wait, why can't I just do them as they come up? Imagine that day when only 3 loads is needed to be caught up. What a heavenly, glorious moment that will be! Until then, the record set, only months ago, was 15 loads in one sitting (or shall I say, crouching, bending, standing, pulling, pushing, cramming, etc.).
