"I see you shiver with antici.....pation."
With most television shows, you are shown a quick preview of coming weeks, right after each episode. The Amazing Race is no exception. So, when season 6 ended, a mere 4 weeks ago, I watched as Freddy and Kendra accepted their victory, here in Chicago. I had a sense of accomplishment, watching the final episode, and I sat back to reminisce on the season's comings and goings. No preview tonight! The season is over. You can imagine my surprise, when Phil stated, "In three weeks, on a brand new The Amazing Race." What? I sat up straight to watch. Yes indeed, the 7th season was to begin in only 3 weeks. As engaging as the show is, I was prepared to have no obligations on Tuesday nights, at least for longer than 3 weeks. What happened? Well, so much for the fall season as the big boom of new shows, new seasons. I kind of miss that old way of doing things. While it is nice to decrease the wait time, it is also nice to bombard my senses with mindless television, that doesn't require strict times and dates, in order to keep up. I will take it, cuz the show rocks, but next time, give us a little bit of air before you start up again. I just got to know last seasons racers, now I have to start learning new ones, and so soon. Let Kendra and Freddy have their time in the sun. Not that they deserved it.
