The Return of Jane Fonda

Monster-in-Law looks like one of those movies I would never see. It seems to be in that genre of Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lopez, Meet the Parents goofy romantic comedies that never really appeal to me. I will watch them, and sometimes be genuinely surprised, but I will not go out of my way to see them. Well, this new one has a bit more than the usual jokes to open my eyes to its possibilities. Jane has returned. I am by no means a "fan" of Jane, in that I am not fanatical about her work. I certainly have only seen a small portion of her films, but I always enjoy watching her. Klute, Coming Home, my favorite 9 to 5, and her awesome turn in The Morning After, are @ the top of the list. I was watching an interview w/ Jane, by Tim Russert. She just sounds so interesting to me, and what an incredible life! She is well-spoken, talented and still stunning @ her ripe old age. I probably will pick up a copy of her book, even though celebrity biographies and auto-biographies always seem so sensational. I remember feeling sad when I heard that Jane would not be returning to Hollywood. Was it Old Gringo? Was that her last film? She is a true gem, and Hollywood should be dancing in the streets for this new (old) blood. I do not dislike J-Lo, but the only reason I would pay my money for Monster-in-Law, is to see Jane eat J-Lo for breakfast, and I ain't talking about the characters they're playing. That's right! Pass the pepper!
