Please Tell Me If...
We watched a bit of the new American Idol-ish show (yes I know they are the same creators) So You Think You Can Dance (is that the right title?). It was entertaining as most of these reality shows are. I have grown immensely tired of the dozens that seem to appear on every network every other week. There are just far too many, and not a whole lot of originality going on. I digress. The reason for today's blog stems from watching this new reality program. It scares me to see so many people with absolutely no clue at all. Some of the people on this show specifically and on American Idol as well, have no idea that they truly are talentless. If I ever were to be that bad, I would know it. I have had many auditions in which I have completed my piece and walked out of the room, knowing full well that I sucked and would never hear from these people again. How is it that these people are able to make themselves believe that they have a future in entertaining? To all friends who read this, if I ever get to the point of being clueless on how bad I am or how bleak my performing future appears, please inform me. No wonder our world works the way it does. I can imagine that folks w/ delusions of grandeur about their performing abilities have many mirror images in other types of employment/areas of life. Dare I say government? Let's all focus very hard on a difficult task ahead...brutal reality checks.
