Feed the Need

I recall being a child and moving my room around, redecorating (moving posters and changing them out) every week. By the time I left home, my walls had so many tack holes that it was actually starting to smell like cheese. These were the days before that gummy sticky tack, which I discovered in my college days. I had this urge for change. I think I still have it, but have less space to make so many changes. Since I have moved in w/ the other half, that has come to an abrupt stop. He dislikes new changes to an already established floor plan. Some things are very permanent (our relatively new plasma), other things can be moved easily. So I have my one room to make drastic changes. It is our room w/ our computer and DVDs, movies, toys, cd's, etc. It was officially named "Professor Von Hooten's Study"*, but we generally refer to is as the "crap room". Not that I consider my collections crap, just that there is so much...crap. I am able to change things around, with limitations. The shelving is all attached to the wall, not that there would be anything much different as far as floor plan w/ wall shelves. So, I feed my need by taking things down (and dusting of course) and then replacing them in a new way. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it just becomes a hassle. Today, I took down all of my Romero/Zombie related movies, etc, and dusted and replaced. 5 minutes tops, but I felt good for having done it. Where does this come from? I have obviously had it for all my life. I guess I just like change, no matter how small. But seemingly only w/ furniture moving, DVD organization and the like. Interesting. I would imagine these are the boring details that would frighten away most blog enthusiasts, but this is what my mind is churning around right now. I feel that the blog has become more than a public forum. It is my own journal. I have already taken time to go back and review entries from months ago. It is fun, to see how insane or boring I may have been during one short time frame. Cheesy entries of reorganizing a particular obsessive collection. Good reading if ever there was.

*When we first began to decorate our new home (2 years ago) we decided to name the rooms, and even wanted to put tiny placards on the doors or entryways of each room, making certain that no question was made as to the proper terminology for each area.
We never completed this process, as our entryway and master bathroom were finished last year, and we have yet to name them.
Master Bedroom = "The Blue Room"
Second Bedroom/Office = "Professor Von Hooten's Study" (named for a character in the T&A 80's flick Pretty Smart.)
Kitchen = "Hell's Kitchen" (we were mulling over a possible name change to honor our friend Joel, who had helped us tile one Sunday long ago, and was then in a horrible car accident days later. Don't worry, he is doing great now.) or "Jo-Hell's Kitchen"
Living/Dining Room = "Adaptation Parlour"
Guest Bathroom = "The Trojan Powder Room"

Those who have seen our new bathroom/entryway, name suggestions?
