Bye Bye Wendie Jo

Most people know Wendie Jo Sperber from Bosom Buddies. I did not watch that show. However, I looooved her in the two pieces that I will remember her for; Bachelor Party (as Tom Hanks' sister-in-law "Tina") and as Marty McFly's sister in Back to the Future. She was one of those actors that made the most of some smaller roles (at least from the two movies I know her for), and I immediately knew who she was when I saw the headline on Yahoo entertainment news. Bachelor Party is, of course, one of the great t&a flicks of the 80's. Some of the best moments of the film are Wendie's. Think back to the moment when she arrives at the bridal shower at the same time as the hookers. Or when she gets down and dirty with the Chippendale's dancers. Or best of all, trying to hug Hanks while she performs a rectal exam. One of the great unsung comic actors. Her parts were smaller, but her contributions were enormous. She died today of breast cancer. So long Wendie Jo!
