Out of the Woodwork

*post actually written 11/04

Once I posted on this new turn of events, I had three people come to me via phone, blog comment or email, to express their concern over my lack of employment. Most were positive, enjoying the fact that I was going to be a happier person. That remains to be seen, but I must remain positive. Today was a challenge. I couldn’t really relax, cuz there is one large ape off my shoulders, replaced by another one…perhaps not as ominous or burdensome. I am definitely free, and that is certainly not a bad thing. I was lazy today, doing only the things that I found necessary; filing for those all important benefits, transferring money from my savings to my checking, and canceling those automatic withdrawals to my savings. Among other things, I browsed online for possible work leads, and began to compile another list of talent agencies. I am in desperate need of new headshots, but they must be done before I am able to do another mass mailing to the various agencies. Enough is enough. It seems that if I don’t take advantage of this downtime, whichever job I select (or accept out of need) could be the final straw. I will certainly have time now to complete my screenplay, at least a first draft, and to complete various other projects I have been piddling away on.

To Do List:
Complete first draft of screenplay
Remain calm
Pinch pennies
Complete “Julia” (see a previous entry)
Complete my Madonna mural
Complete (as much as I can) my website
Live life and enjoy this time and additional chance
Stop buying crap/toys/stuff (as if I don’t have enough; but then again, those damn Napoleon Dynamite figures are released this month)
Set up a reading for the screenplay
Find at least a part time gig to supplement the government’s generous rewards
Work my ass off to make sure that I won’t have to return to a mundane, mind-numbing day job after this slight break
Love life

…shouldn’t be too hard.
