Bitchfest 2006

I am soooooo tired of the trailers for the remake of When a Stranger Calls. It's no mystery that the original film had some absolutely brilliant moments, but the majority of the film was not very memorable. It probably did not need to be remade, much like many of the recent remakes overpowering our theatres. Bottom line, it did not need to be redone. In addition, the multiple ads being aired each 5 minutes on every channel; certainly support that this doesn't look to be much of a masterpiece. I am just plain tired of seeing the ads. It looks to me like; as in so many horror films being advertised; that the best parts are being let out early; via the trailer. Stop!

American Idol...I gave up long before the season ended last year, and it looks to me like I will do the same here, once the competition really begins. I guess I like watching the early auditions, cuz the non stop parade of geeks and folks with their heads in the clouds certainly makes for good entertainment. It also serves to infuriate me and get my blood to boil. I think I've written a few blogs on this show, and here's an obvious rehash of things I've already said. What is with these people? Who tells them they are good, and how do these enablers sleep at night; knowing they are pushing these children to make complete asses of themselves, by believing a complete lie! They suck! Then, of course, there are the older contestants. What's their deal? How can you not know you suck eggs? This will plague me til the end of my days. Who do you think you're kidding? After 5 years of this program, how can these loser contestants not see themselves up there, and save their dignity by not even trying? I guess the obvious answer is that you'll never know til you try. And you should try hard for your dreams. For the rest of us watching, it does offer great drama. But when I fall asleep at night; I can sometimes find myself pitying these poor souls, and wishing they weren't representing our youth to our nation, or our people to the world. These people that cannot understand or accept their limitations, and can't accept defeat, only show overseas viewers (are there any?) what they already probably know. So many Americans are pompous asses that don't know when to quit. How pathetic is that?
