The A-Team
"I love it when a plan comes together." or in this case; a harmony.
We had our first music rehearsal last night. God, I can't express how much I loved it! To be back in that atmosphere was just heart warming. I can't help it, I'm a dork! Working through the pieces and learning the harmonies was a blast. The music is great, and not horrendously difficult; but not super easy either. I did have some issues w/ my harmonies. Steve; one of my castmates; has a splendid voice (as does everyone else; all six of us); so he was given most of the top parts of the harmonies. I was a bit bummed, but I guess for the top you want something pretty and w/ a bit of flourish and vibrato. I have the range, but it's never "pleasant". I would venture to say that I have the lesser of all the voices in the cast. Even so, it was soooo nice to sing again...and I have alot more than I thought I would. I have a few solo lines, but no song to myself. There are 9 numbers in the show, and I sing in 5 of them. Not too shabby. I'm just thrilled to be singing again, and may take this as a catalyst to get back on that wagon...perhaps get some voice lessons, and start auditioning for some musicals. We'll see. When the harmonies worked (and there were alot for our first rehearsal) it was a thing of beauty. I'm so happy to be singing again.
"Well pardon me, while I play the grand piano!"
