Shoot!
Tomorrow is; I believe, the first day of shooting on House of Black Wings. I've offered to be a lackey on the set; even on the days I'm not scheduled to appear in front of the camera. I'm doing it for the exposure to behind the scenes wackiness (to semi-prep myself for my own film...I'm sure this is all it will take; NOT!), and hopefully won't end up being a hindrance on the set. Sunday night will be my first shot scene; the one in which I do some damage to my fingers. No details...not yet. I'm excited, and a bit wary about committing pretty much every weekend to the shoot over the next 2 months or so. I'm anxious to see how it goes, and how I like being a gopher (what else can I do?) My costume for Sunday is complete; assuming the wife-beater I chose doesn't mess w/ the picture as it appears on camera.
A sidenote; the other half and I were loaned a copy of Sword and Cloak's previous film effort; Sword of Hearts. Their first feature. I was actually quite pleased w/ the technical aspects (aside from the boom mike in one shot), and the locations chose for the story were quite brilliant. However, aside from the lead actor and a select few supporting roles, the acting didn't do much to suck me into the story. Also, a sword play/renaissance story isn't quite my cup of tea, but I was able to remain open-minded and enjoy it a great deal.

Have fun, learn lots, and take notes! That way you can post with a lot of "filmy in-speak" that I won't understand ;-) Seriously, though, make the most of this opportunity, as I know you will!
