Holy Crap!
I'm soooo behind on my blogging. I haven't even mentioned (until now) that we saw The Queen at the Chicago Int'l Film Festival...last week; and that director Stephen Frears was there for a Q&A; discussing one of my favorites; The Grifters. I haven't commented on The Queen. I haven't written about last night's Ghost Tour of Chicago; and that whole great evening. It's now midnight; and I have to get to bed. I have to be back on the set by 8am. So, I just took a quick shower; saving me that hassle in the morning. It was another 12 hour day today; and in a new location. The fun part is that I now see the space that my final fight sequence will take place. I'm sooo pooped. A special treat today; DP Clare (God, did I spell that right?...I'm too lazy to look it up right now); made a t-shirt for me; a gray one w/ the lettering; "Slate Girl". Since I am the "owner" of the slate position; when she calls for "slate" or "marker" it is now, "Rolling...and Slate Girl". I feel so loved. I'm still having a blast, but envying the other half's down time. He did some errands and probably took it easy today. Damn him. The good thing about all of this time on the set; is that a great deal of it already feels second nature. I don't ask as many questions (at least on the tasks I always am assigned to). Did I mention that DP Clare told me that she "trusted me implicitly". Did I spell that right? It's too late and I'm too tired to care. That comment made me feel super good. I wouldn't mind doing this work; if a regular day job work week wasn't already kicking my ass and eating away at my energy. The new job, however, is moving along; and I can't really complain about my set up and possibilities there. It is still though...a day job. Can't I just make movies? Off to bed; and a promising new tomorrow!
