Okay...I'll Talk

I'm still here in SD. I have no concept of time...no idea what day/date it actually is. I will be returning to work on Monday; the 23rd. My birthday is coming up...sometime in the near future. It's been a bit over a week since my dad died. My head feels messed up. It doesn't help that the other half and I went to see The Transformers today. I can't express deeply enough my complete disgust with this absolutely dreadful movie. Dreadful. Horrible. Just plain stupid. I compared this film to Van Helsing; based on the complete crappy-ness I had to endure today. Don't get me wrong, I didn't go in w/ any expectations; only that it might be a good time. Of course the effects were well done; but the script was pathetically bad. Bernie Mac's cameo was a treat; and the brief Pres. Bush ding-dong bashing. My God, this movie was so bad. I'm still having a difficult time; even this many hours later; dealing w/ the hours wasted sitting in the theatre. Awful. AWFUL!

There is a great deal of family, emotional baggage that has been building up since my father died. I can't discuss it here; that would be tacky, but oh how I want to. I think it would be a release; and it would also allow me to get input from outside sources. This bunch of complete nonsense and BS is also taking its toll on my mind and sanity.

I'm ready to return home; and the other half and I will start our two day journey on Wednesday. I don't, however, want to return to work. I don't know if it will be a mess; or if things will have been kept up okay.

There are so many other details about this trip, but I'm feeling the fatigue setting in again. I've been sleeping an average of 10 hours a night; over the past week. Obviously, that will have to be stopped once we return home.

The other half and I got my older brother addicted to the new Battlestar Galactica over the past week. We intended on buying the available seasons anyway, and while we were shopping here in SD, we found them available on sale. The 3-4 hour mini-series, the complete season one; the complete season 2 and the complete season 2.5 later, we are as caught up as we can be. The other half and I lost touch w/ our beloved show sometime in the beginning of season three; when it was actually running on Sci-Fi. That season will be available in the next month. How many hours used over the past week; watching the exploits of the 12 colonies and the Cylons? Well, quite a bit. It has all re-confirmed the beauty, complexity and excitement this show offers. Again, as I've said before, WATCH THIS SHOW. My understanding is that season five will be the completion of the series. Emmy and Golden Globe voters; time's ticking away; get the nominations and in turn; the wins, before the show disappears. Wake up; for frack's sake.

Another interesting bit of news...today, the other half and I visited Dinosaur Park, here in Rapid City. It came to my attention that this location would be an interesting choice for the climax of my film/screenplay; Sid's Apple. I took some video of the area (beautiful views and a nice bit of symbolism for the finale). It's funny, but this simple act makes this seem like more of a possibility. It's gonna happen folks. I really feel like it's gonna happen.
