Updates for My Friends

Been working quite a bit; had two over-10 hour shifts this week; covering my own shifts and two shifts for a co-worker. Hell, I need the hours, and I will then have a favor to be fulfilled when I need it. Not too shabby. I'm loving my new job...alot. It's almost frightening. Certainly there are my fair share of bitchy customers, but they don't get to me as much as they used to. Friend Jeff told me to simply act oblivious when I have an irate customer. It really works. Loving it all. Now, if I could just get hired on after the holidays (assuming we're still in Chicago...which certainly could be the case), and get a pay raise (making peanuts now...although enough that I no longer qualify for unemployment); things would be perfect.

Friends Jeff and Chris will be in town this weekend. I got Saturday off to spend w/ them...which makes me happy. Looking forward to the usual fun, cattiness, shopping and hopefully some poker! Yeah!

No work on my script. It's been quite awhile. I need to pick it up again and get to work.

No showings on our condo for the past few weeks. Need to find out what's up w/ that.

French Toast. Still waiting on final tracks from Shafeeg to get to my sound guy, Adam. THIS PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED. I'm close to being done going through all of the raw footage, searching for bloopers and fun behind the scenes stuff for the wrap reel. Clare is working on the distorted photos and the other half wanted to take a try @ them as well, so has been fiddling w/ a trial version of PhotoShop. We'll see what comes up.

The other half talked to a head hunter today; someone that his (and my) former boss got him in touch with. Since the move we've been counting on is still so unsure, I guess we might be checking out some other options. This could get interesting.

Joined another MySpace-esque networking, friends site. Called Yippi.com. I forwarded my info to an ad on Craigs List for a film called The Gauntlet. The reply was to create a profile. The film stars Bai Ling and has been shooting in China over the past months. Their big thing is that they are casting the American actors for the American portion of the shoot via virtual auditions. So, I created a page on Yippi.com, and it allows the filmmakers to see you and you can meet other hopefuls, etc. I have to tape myself answering some of their questions and then a second tape will be the sides provided by the filmmakers. I don't know if this is all a scam, or a big waste of time, but hell, I don't have anything else to do, so I may as well see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
