"Welcome to Marathon. May I help you?"
Hope all of the world (at least those countries that celebrate Turkey Day) and specifically all of my friends, family and readers had (or are having; it is after all only 5:30pm) a great Thanksgiving. The other half and I had a nice relaxing day of nothing. We had other opportunities to be with other human beings, but the other half did not want to make any plans. For once, I am happy w/ his choice. It was nice. I made my patented turkey chili (hey, we had to work the bird in somehow), we ate and ate and ate and watched a lot of TV. Needless to say, it was nice. So while other souls were braving the weather, Aunt Jan's green bean casserole (okay, I could have done w/ some of that) and little cousin Betty's pageant act performed just for the family, the other half and I gained weight and had a relaxing time doing it. Tomorrow it's back to work on Black Friday. My first couple of weeks back in retail (in over 7 years) and I'm ready for the big day. The holidays are in full bloom...and yet, the other half and I are still here in Chicago. Hmmm. Limbo continues. But who's complaining? I would, but that would not be proper considering the day should be about appreciation and thanks, right? What am I thankful for? My health. My new job. The other half. My friends and family. I'm also thankful that The Simpsons are on twice in the 5pm to 6:30pm time frame; every single weekday. It's the little things, isn't it?
BTW, can anyone guess the movie quote that is the title of the entry?
