Pronunciation

I'm bound and determined to refer to Los Angeles as; not LA, not the City of Angels, and not the Land of Broken Dreams. Instead, I intend to call it...

This pronunciation comes to you from Lily; Angelica Huston's character from one of my fave films, The Grifters. (If you haven't seen this film, do so immediately--her performance will blow your mind.) I never quite understood if she was calling it that cuz she was uneducated, or cuz she was being a non-conformist or being cute. At any rate, I really want to use it. Just so people will look at me funny.
