This is Space-Freighter Ackbar

Neat title. It actually does have a meaning...but I'm simply to lazy to explain it now. Forgive.

I'm sitting here on a Sunday, feeling tired and achey and ill. The other half is in West Hollywood, for gay pride. I'm glad he went, since all I planned to do today was sleep. Friday night I woke up w/ a nasty sore throat...no rhyme or reason. I'm pretty sure it's allergies again. I swear, as time wears on, these allergies issues become more and more frequent. What a giant pain in the ass. We were out all day yesterday, first to take a $30 money order to the building we're trying to get into, for a credit check. We had lunch in the mall where the Kodak Theatre rests. I think we've been there every day for the past week or so. That's where our new home lies. We got word from the property manager that he had everything he needed, except this money to do a credit check. We also took another look at the place we want, and they've almost finished the stuff that wasn't done the time we were there before (finished mirrors, closet doors, etc.). It really is a fabulous place. I really hope we get in. We had several hours to kill before friend Kate's b-day party in Santa Monica, so we visited one of the few shopping malls in the area; which we have yet to conquer. Century City Shopping Center, or something like that. Apparently the busiest place (or so I'm told) in the LA area; and where most of the celebs shop (we saw not a one). We window shopped, had a couple of smoothies, and then plopped our asses in Borders to read and get ourselves closer to the 9pm hour. We then found our way a short distance to McCabe's Bar and Grill in Santa Monica, had some chow, waited for the b-day girl, had some drinks, socialized and were home by midnight. Of course, my sore throat and hacking was increased by 100%, due to the loud talking required in any bar setting, and the cigarette smoke I was inhaling when in the out of doors. I've barely spoken today; finally waking up @ noon. The other half left @ 9am. I made my way out of the house; in search of food...grabbed some McDonald's, and then some water bottles at Ralph's. Now I'm back here. What a fabulous LA existence. I kid.

Saint Leah and her roomie have agreed to let us stay until Tuesday morning, since it appears our own home will be ready shortly (assuming we get the place). Tonight, I have to be at LAX @ 11pm to pick up Leah. She's returning from a wedding in the Chicago area; and she also got to do some ADR for House of Black Wings; with friend David. I'm jealous.

Also, last night, got to see some old friends from MSU (MSUM--if you must). I figured it's been some 13 or so years since last we met. Todd, Pat, Jon and Darrin. With the exception of Todd (who is and has been travelling the world), the guys are all LA fixtures, so I look forward to hanging out, catching up, etc.

Thanks to my brain for this boring-ass entry, and to my bladder for finally bringing this sorry excuse of a blog to an end. Hope you all enjoyed it.

FYI, I'm feeling better, but I'm going to go back to bed anyway. How's that for an ending?
