Who is the ULTIMATE 80s Horror Hunk? Semi-Final Boners Wrap-up!

Another milestone folks.  But before we celebrate this boner-riffic achievement, let's congratulate Kurt Russell on his win over Tom McBride.  His adorable bearded hunkiness in THE THING overcame the stubbly, Marlboro Man hotness of wheelchair-bound "Mark" in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2.  Final numbers?  Russell -- 6.  McBride -- 3.  McBride we'll see you in our dreams, but Russell? You've got some training to do.  You are in the top ten my friend.

Highest Voter Turnout:  The battle between Danny Hassel of NIGHTMARE 4 & 5 vs. Dennis Quaid of DREAMSCAPE.  Not only was this the highest voter turnout in the semi-finals, it's the highest turnout in the competition thus far!  35 TOTAL VOTES!  Of course, Hassel took most of them -- with 30!  Second for most voter turnout -- Johnny Depp of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET vs. Robert Rusler of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE.  A total of 11 votes.

Lowest Voter Turnout:  Tie in this category -- Chris Sarandon of FRIGHT NIGHT vs. Terry O'Quinn of THE STEPFATHER with 6 total votes.  And Todd Allen of WITCHBOARD vs. Bruce Abbott of RE-ANIMATOR -- also 6 votes.

Highest # of Votes for ONE Contestant:  As mentioned above, Danny Hassel holds this honor -- in the semi-finals as well as the competition as a whole!  Congrats, Danny!

Lowest # of Votes for ONE Contestant:  Sean Chapman -- dirty "Uncle Frank" of HELLRAISER received only 1 vote in his semi-final round.  Apparently not dirty enough for our voters.  Alas.

Largest Margin for a High Voter Turnout:  Again, this goes to Danny Hassel vs. Dennis Quaid -- 30 to 5!

Smallest Margin for a High Voter Turnout:  Urbano Barberini of DEMONS vs. Paul Satterfield of CREEPSHOW 2.  Very slim here.  Had to count on Jeffrey Reddick (yes, the creator of the FINAL DESTINATION franchise) to cast a tie-breaking vote.  I will let it be known however, that the day after I posted the winner and the subsequent battle, a random vote for Urbano came in.  Since it was past the time, I did not count it.  So the final #s were Urbano: 4 and Paul: 5.

How Many of my PERSONAL Votes Did NOT Result in a Win?: FOUR.  Again, I can reiterate that I am not cooking the books here.

Personal Losses:  I think I'm pretty bummed to see Ken Olandt of APRIL FOOL'S DAY out of the running.  He was very vocal and in on the action in the prelims, getting lots of folks to lend their support in the voting booths there.  But there was little turnout from these same devotees in the semi-finals, and so he was sadly, asked to leave the ring.  But he was also asked to hit the showers, am I right?  :)

A quick notation of any remaining franchise hunks and then we'll lay out the game plan for the remaining portion of this exciting competition.

In the top ten we now have one remaining boy from Jason's neck of the woods (see how I did that?) and two hunks who hail from Elm Street.  A far cry from the original SEVEN Crystal Lake competitors and SIX Elm Street hunks!

With 10 hotties remaining, we now have 5 battles to go.  These are the final rounds -- which will begin tomorrow.  And once our TOP 5 are determined, the voting will change up a bit.  More to come, but for now -- look over your top 10 and start making some notes in pencil, before the voting opens tomorrow.  No time to waste!
