Alert! Name change!
When letters are sent out, under my name, @ the day job, my name is never misspelled. I have for years answered to the name "Klug". The correct pronunciation would rhyme with "Boog" eyman. 95% of the time, I hear it pronounced like "plug". I have grown accustomed to that, and after the first thousand times, have taken it on as an alternate ringing bell. "Michael Klug (plug)?" "Present!" At work, I have had calls for Klung, Klug (plug), the correct Klug ("Boog"-eyman), and the occassional King. All of these I can forgive, for the general population is illiterate, and I have accepted that. Just recently, I received voice mail messages from a gentlemen, who clearly had my letter in hand. He was trying to reach a Mr. Slug. Yes, with an "S". When I had the opportunity to talk to him, I made sure I corrected him. I did take a moment to ask how he got an "S" from the letter "K". He was not able to reply, with more than "Sorry." At first I just thought he was trying to be clever, or to push my buttons. Then it became apparent that he was far to dumb to have concocted such a brilliant trick. Just another horrifying event, reminding me that the world is truly doomed.

How about Kalugula? ;)
And yes, I realize I just gave an alternate spelling of "Klugula." I'm fresh out of clever.
Apparently so. :)
