Get Over It!

I have no doubt that there are real incidents of bigotry, racial profiling and deserving folks getting the shaft solely cuz of their color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, etc. What I also am keenly aware of, is many people using their minority status as rationalization for why they didn't get something they wanted or felt they deserved. A perfect example, and the spark for this entry, showed up on American Idol. The final auditionee shown on the Denver judgings, was a young man, dressed as a woman, sounding like a woman, and acting like a woman. I try not to judge. Hey, to each his own. But when someone like this young man decides to berate the judges for not moving him to the next level, believing that they are "profiling" him because of his lifestyle, or whatever, I tend to get a little angry. You know what, you were not chosen to go on to Hollywood, cuz you sucked as a singer! Period! It had nothing to do with you, only your lack of a pleasant voice or charisma. Keep in mind, these three judges are in entertainment. They've seen it all; every type of person, lifestyle, hair color. They don't care! For the love of all that's holy, GET OVER IT!
