Peter Benchley

He died today. I only read a couple of his books, one of which was Jaws. I read it 3 times, just cuz it was an incredible read, and worthy of second and third (and possibly fourth) readings. I never completed my read of Beast, but his White Shark was an underrated gem. Jaws is high on my list of favorite books. That opening passage following "the great fish", is the stuff of legend. Well Pete, off you go to Davy Jones' locker. You will be missed, but your literary legacy will float on forever.
