Neat-o!

It's 6 am. I couldn't sleep. Today will be my second day on "the job". It's a temp to hire gig. I don't want to jinx it, but I'm not sure how I feel about it after one day. It was pretty tough yesterday, just cuz I haven't worked a day in 6 months. That'll do it to you. It's a real estate company. That's about all I can explain at this time. For now it will be mostly admin/clerical work. After 3 months of temping, if all is well, they'll hire me on permanent. It's nice, cuz I can actually walk there. No commute; and if I did have to take public transpo., it would probably be like 20 minutes worth. As a walk it takes me about 40 minutes. Goodness knows I can certainly use the exercise. So for now, lots and lots of walking.

It's a super small company; like 3 people; which is nice and intimate. I'm not sure what the boss thought of me yesterday. I felt like a lot was accomplished, and he said that he felt the same way. I can't quite read him yet, but we'll see how it goes today. About an hour after I get there, he's off to meet w/ some folks, leaving me to my own devices. He'll have a list of things for me to do, however. I guess that means he trusts me after only one day? Who knows.

Well folks, it looks like I'm back to work; and just in the nick of time. Monday's call in to unemployment will be my last; not just cuz I started working, but cuz my "fund" has about one week's worth of money left. Timing is everything.

BTW: Two good signs; when I arrived in the office; there was a Simpsons playset; of the variety that I collect; on the bookshelf. It's the original Simpsons from the Tracy Ullman Show. In addition, the attorney that shares the office space/partnered w/ my boss, has a dog that comes to work w/ him. Those seemed like pretty good signs.

More later. Some fun with the universe!
