I'm an Actor

Truly; I am. You just can't tell by the amount of work I do; or rather DON'T do. I had an audition for an independent feature on Saturday. I kicked ass on my monologues and was called back for this coming Saturday; cold readings. The good thing is that I excel at cold readings; much more so than prepared monologues. It's a horror film/ghost story; so it seems right up my alley. Of course, I didn't hear about my callback until Tuesday; which left me a bit on edge. I didn't realize how down I've become about not getting gigs or paying work; until the level of excitement I experienced when I received the callback. I was told in my callback email that they really enjoyed my work; and "really" was highlighted in the email. Doesn't take much for me to feel good about myself. I guess that's okay. My Milwaukee agent called me on Friday for an audition on Monday. I took a half day to go there; audition for 10 minutes or so and then return to work. I haven't heard anything yet (I'm sure I didn't get it; cuz the shoot is next Tuesday or Wednesday), so I'm happy I have this callback on Saturday. The feature would not pay; (me get a paying gig; the world wouldn't be able to handle that!) but it looks promising; based on the company's website and past projects.
