Loss of Stress and Blubber
Since I started Sleeping Ugly in February (which ended in June) and began my new job in May; I have lost some weight. Why, the most recent jeans I purchased were a size 36; and no waist circulation issues. How 'bout that? I have been a size 38 for quite a while, and really pushing hard to a 40. I refused to go that extra size; forsaking waist comfort for my own piece of mind. Well, I walk almost every day; to and from work; except when it's raining or (as it was a few weeks ago) pushing 100+ degrees. Generally, during the day; I also run errands for my new bosses; or for office supplies. That's about 3 times a week. It has come to my attention that my stomach cramps (pinecones) and constant heartburn have greatly decreased since I got this new work. Obviously the other half was right; stress was the likely culprit. I am certainly less stressed now. I think that all of the walking not only serves to slim me, but also to let my mind be free from stress and pointless worries. Most of the time, it's a very mindless walk; full of relaxation, people watching and gazing at all of the cool buildings on my usual route. How will this change when it gets cold? I'm not sure. Then again, the winters have been mild (but there's no global warming), so I may be able to walk there all the way through December. Not a bad thing going here.
I just did a quick Mapquest of my home to work route. Of course, it's not the exact streets I take and I'm not driving, but according to the site; it's 2.70 miles; one way. So, take away some of the garbage distance that goes w/ actual driving, and I'm doing about 4 miles of walking a day. Not too shabby.
Let's see how much I walk for lunch/errands during the day...please hold...
Thanks for holding...So, the general distance I travel for errands/lunch; is to the Office Depot on Ashland. According to Mapquest, from work to Office Depot, is .68 miles. Take away the BS distance for driving, and I've got about another mile for lunch/errands. Like I said, that comes about 3-4 times a week. So, let's figure it all out. In one week, I will walk about 20+ miles, and this doesn't include the great deal of walking the other half and I do on the weekends. Good times. Keep the weight loss coming.

Good for you! They say that people should walk 10,000 steps a day-- which is about 3 miles. You're doing that! Way to go!
I'm on the road to weight loss! A road filled w/ scary mutants and dark, gnarled trees. Perhaps weight loss isn't the answer. :)
