Idol Returns

Once again, I have given my television time to experience the humiliation of so many young people hoping for instant fame. I'm sure it will be as it was in previous seasons. I'll watch the auditions and get down to the final 30 or so and then I'll call it quits. I have to start wondering about something. Are some of the hopefuls planted there? How can these people (after 5 full seasons) still believe that they have talent and that they have an even remote chance to move forward in the competition? C'mon. Obviously, the majority of the contestants watch the show, and see the ridiculousness of some of the "singers". How can that not provide a major reality check for them? Don't they see that dressing like a buffoon does nothing for the chances, not to mention their credibility? Can't they hear the pathetic attempts at singing a Beyonce' song; and then hear that same bad sound coming from their own mouth? I also see that the parents/supporters are to blame. Do your children a favor. You don't need to squelch their dreams, but for Godsake, provide a taste of reality for them. But I have to say, without all of these hopeless hopefuls, I wouldn't be tuning in to begin with. It gives me something to complain about, and we all know how important that is.
