Cripes, Cindy!

Blogger slacker! I've done so little in the way of blogging. Quite the change from my unemployment days of 10 entries a day (on average). There's a great deal to input into this entry, but it's almost bedtime, so it's not meant to be now. Patience my pet.

One more day of work before 10 days off. Yes, a long vacation is both needed and definitely wanted. The other half and I are off to my homeland; South Dakota. Mock if you must, but I am overjoyed for this trip. It's been a loooong 5 years since I returned home; and the same amount of time since I've seen my parents. I have one niece I met that long ago; when she was 11 months old. A bit of a change, I'm sure. I also have a niece whom I've never met. Even more pathetic. I'm a bad uncle.

French Toast is almost complete (ha, you were fooled). Well, a rough cut is almost complete. I have two sections of two scenes and a few odds and ends to finish before I can call a first cut complete. Once done, I plan on bringing in a few eyes for some feedback. I've been away from it for what seems forever, but the long trip to SD should be fruitful in making my creative juices to boil.

Futurama has grown to be more than just the red-headed stepchild of our television habits. Praise to Adult Swim; and to John (yes John) Zoidberg. Anyone know how to get ahold of a stuffed toy of Zoidberg? I've checked on Ebay, but have had no luck. I wonder if such a thing exists. Other recent television highlights include On the Lot (must see for me; the budding filmmaker--Zach is my early front runner; but Kenny is the cutest) and the return of my precious Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. Best wishes (although late) to Kathy for the loss of her father; the hilarious John Griffin. I was quite moved by this episode. The more I see Kathy, the more I appreciate her humor and what she strives to be. Again, if she's in need of new "gays", spread the word, she should give me a call. The other half and I are planning to see her when she comes to the Chicago Theatre in October.

Recently saw The Jacket. Fabulous mind-f*** of a movie. Awesome to see Jennifer Jason Leigh again (although this movie's already 3? years old). Great performances (especially by JJL), awesome visuals and a satisfying ending. Part Jacob's Ladder, part Butterfly Effect; worth a look.

I've been working out for about a week. Hopefully I can keep it up. God knows I desperately need it. My most recent weigh? About 230. Lord help me; and the sidewalks I must travel.

Work? Day job....hmm. Some drama, the usual insanity, but I should be well rested once I return from SD. Yes, this is definitely needed.

Today marks 8 years since the other half and I met. A light celebration; drinks and dinner out (cuz it's soooo rare that we eat out). As much as I bitch and lose my patience w/ the boy, I appreciate him and try each day to realize how lucky I am; and to keep from taking him for granted. ...and now on to the cute boys we met on Sunday during pride; that we are both lusting after....oh wait, happy anniversary; other half.

Finally, I forgot to mention that I have created a trailer for French Toast. It's on the main page of my website @ http://www.klugula.com/. I'm happy with it; and have gotten good feedback. Check it out!

I'll try to update on my excursion home (Mt. Rushmore fireworks included); upon my return.

Best to all.
