Is this what I've been waiting for?

No.

Of course I always had in the back of my mind; a deep wish; that amongst all of the horrendous (and the few great) remakes hitting the theatres over the past several years; that among them would be another valiant effort to bring that blonde hunk; saving our planet from certain doom; back to life. I'm talking of course, about Flash Gordon. I adore...no; strike that...obsessively love; the 1980 schlock-fest; starring the extremely HOT (sizzle) Sam Jones; and the amazingly gifted Max Von Sydow (I still think his Ming is one of the best villian portrayals...EVER). I, for some reason; searched for Flash Gordon; in my never ending web surfing...this evening. I saw Flash Gordon 2007; and nearly had a fit. Come to find out it's a weekly show; soon to be appearing on Sci-Fi (how bad can it be? This IS the same network putting out Battlestar Galactica). I watched a few moments of behind-the-scenes and then some actual show footage. Looks pretty bad. The acting doesn't look so good. It looks kinda cheap; and while the actor who played Lana's boyfriend from Smallville is hot; I don't see him as Flash. The gent they chose for Ming looks even less promising...not the least bit threatening. Here's a link to the site. I'm a little off-put right now. Excuse me while I throw up a little bit and hide it under my pillow. What a drag. I'll stick to, "Look, there is water leaking from her eyes"; and Brian Blessed in his skivvies; thank you very much.
