A Week Later
I have another blessed two days off in a row.
Today is the other half's 40th b-day. He's just as adorable and irritating as ever, but I love him so much, and I'm happy I can be w/ him on his big b-day milestone. He's working today, but I will be here when he arrives home this afternoon. I had all of these fun plans for the big day, but due to budget constraints, I won't be able to do many of them (we just spent 350 bucks on new, sorely needed brakes for our truck--Junior). It's all about creativity today folks! Generally, we don't make big things out of b-days, but since this is 4-0, I figured more should be made of it. But, he doesn't really want much of that. Okay, creative brain, you've got today to make something special. I can do it.
The job is fine. Already into the regular grind, but still not loving it completely.
Two more days in a row to get more writing done. Make it so.
I found another listing for a Contract Associate @ Equity (the office two blocks away), and contacted the woman I interviewed w/ a couple of months ago. She replied, and said if I wanted to see her again, we could schedule. I would LOVE if this could happen. It wouldn't be a great deal more than what I'm making now (but still more!) but I'm more interested in having weekends and evenings off...that's the selling point...and of course that it's in the industry. I would feel bad leaving my current post high and dry so close to the holidays, but I am okay being selfish at this point. Of course, with the economy in the shitter, I'm afraid to leave a relatively solid job and move to something I can't find a guarantee on. We'll see how this plays out.
Not much else to report. The other half and I have been recording every episode of The Simpsons and The X-Files that come up, and watching them in the evenings when I get home. We've become obsessed, but it's so fun to revisit all of the old episodes of both shows. I've always known that The Simpsons was brilliant, but it's The X-Files that is the shocker. Those last few seasons weren't perfect, but in it's heyday, this was a kick ass show. It's a nice reminder. Love it.
It feels so weird to be posting only every week. Remember the good old days of fifty posts each and every day? So much garbage. One week later, and there's STILL nothing to really say. Sad. The day job has taken over my life!
Later, y'all.
