Local Actors Spotted #66-67

Two more celebs in my store this past week.

Fred Dryer; of television's Hunter. Yeah, I know he's a retired football star, but I know him solely from Hunter. He has to be pushing 70, and damn if he didn't look fine. Co-worker Wendy and I were both salivating over him. He was very nice, and I of course asked for an autograph, which he happily provided. The guy's a giant, and didn't seem to have aged, or lost his hard body. Wow.

Last night, I had probably the biggest celeb so far; in the store. I was helping her and her friend/assistant (I assumed it was her designer) with some art work. Until they handed me a business card at checkout, I didn't know who she was. Admittedly, I thought she looked familiar, but I didn't make the connection. Usually, I'm a whiz at recognizing folks, but I'll be damned if I didn't place her. I was angry at myself for not getting it sooner. Of course, if I had known who she was while I was helping her, I probably would have been messing up, or ogling her, or whatever. It was friggin' Donna Summer. Yes, Donna Summer of "Bad Girls", "She Works Hard for the Money", "MacArthur Park", "Last Dance", "On the Radio", and the list goes on and on. If you don't know who she is, I weep for you. She's the Queen of Disco. When they handed me the card, I looked at it, looked to Donna (she had big sunglasses and a tight, low baseball cap), asked her, "Are you THE Donna Summer?". She replied w/ a "yes", and a motion to "keep it down". I reached out to her (no, not in a crazy way), and put my hands on her hand and said, "I love you." She and her assistant just laughed, and I of course asked for an autograph, which she provided. What an amazing encounter! FRIGGIN' DONNA SUMMER!
