I Simply Cannot Believe This!
I have never been so lazy in my entire life. My clock is all out of whack; for so many reasons.
My work schedule has been very odd. Let's examine why. Two weeks ago, I had Tues. and Wed. off. I then received a call from the boss, asking if I wanted Thursday off (he called that morning before I was to be into work). They were cutting hours, and so I said, "sure". That means I had 4 days of work in that week. Well, then Saturday, I felt crappy (no doubt due to some recurring allergy issues), and thus called in Sunday. I then worked Monday of last week, had my regular Tues and Wed. off, then worked Thursday and Friday. I requested Saturday off (3 days ago), since they were cutting hours and I had a good reason to do so (more on that in a moment), then worked Sunday. I then had my regular days of Monday and Tuesday (yesterday and today) off. I will finish out the week by working Wednesday, Thurs and Friday, and then taking two vacation days (Saturday and Sunday) off; as I'm going to Vegas w/ Elwood and friend Lorri for the Las Vegas Int'l Film Festival. I will be taking Monday off; since we're driving back that day, and it will count as one of my normal two days off per week. Add Tuesday off as same, and I think I've worked, like (without calculating of course) 5 days or something ridiculous thing like that; in the past 3 weeks. It's great to have time off, and I am still getting a paycheck, but I'm starting to get a-feared. Cutting hours, and I'm wondering if the store may be looking to can someone. I'm a top seller there, but I also am the last of 5 managers to have been hired. Should I be scared here? Sure, I've volunteered to take a few extra days here and there, cuz I can afford it....somewhat. Jeez. It's settled. Once I come back from Vegas this weekend, and return to the store on Wednesday, I'm not taking ANY time off; if I can manage that. Thus, w/ all of this time off, and a schedule of working one day, then having a couple of days off, etc., my clock is MESSED UP. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'm so very confused.
I found out that the Pasadena location of my company was shutting down. The other half and I both had Saturday off, so we went up there to see what kind of deals we could get. Well, we arrived there to find out it was indeed, their last day. Thus, everything was 90% off. Yes, 90% off. We were there for 3 hours, and it was all pretty civilized. We walked out of there w/ $1800 of merchandise, and paid only $180.00. Quite a bargain. So as not to seem so ridiculous, let me impart to y'all that the items we took, were items I have been eyeing in my store for quite some time. I just never could bring myself to pay for them; even w/ my nice discount. So, in the end, we got a bunch of accessories, a side/bar table (originally 150 bucks--we paid 15 only) and a nice piece of artwork (originally 300; so of course we paid 30), and 95 percent of it was stuff we wanted, not stuff we got JUST CUZ OF THE DEAL. So, I feel pretty good about that. Some very fun decorative items and many nifty gifties.
Friend Eric advised me that one of our all time favorite bad movies; Slaughter High, will be released on DVD later this month. There's that heavenly chorus of angels. Music to my ears.
What else is of note? Still in our studio. Still awaiting a one bedroom. Will it ever come?
I'm about to page 27 of the Simon Baker script; as far as the second draft. Not moving very fast on that one. I've also been a complete slacker/loser on the project w/ friend Chris. I just can't get motivated and it's driving me nutty. See? I must be losing it it I'm using words like "nutty". Heaven help me! My computer is so slow, that working on the new website has become virtually impossible. Excuses, excuses. I wish I could get SOMETHING done. And yet, here I am, on Facebook, blogging on Blogspot, wasting time on MySpace. What a maroon.
I guess I'll wrap up this sad state of affairs, and see about laundry. Nifty.
