Jeff Noms & Other News
The Griffin Theatre received 2 nominations for Stardust; the show I was in last year. One for costume (congrats Kim Morris!) and 1 for new adaptation (congrats Bill Massolia!). In addition, there were multiple nominations for their production of Time and the Conways; including (not sure I remember all of them) Best Production-Play, Best Ensemble (I was hoping for a nomination in this category for Stardust; alas) and Best Direction for friend Jon Berry (congrats to him!). I think that was it. However, several folks I've worked w/ previously/friends were nominated all over the place. Matt Walker & Jen Mathews for ensemble in The Kentucky Cycle, George Howe (composer/writer for the current Sleeping Ugly) for Queen Lucia. Also, Katie Jeep (I starred opposite her for the last two weeks of the Angus, Thongs & Full Frontal Snogging run) for her performance in Queen Lucia. I hope I didn't miss anyone. If so, forgive. Congrats to all! Being the most selfish person; I of course hope that the nominations for George's Queen Lucia musical paves the way for some super recognition next year for Sleeping Ugly! :)
I entered my second screenplay contest last week. It was all sent electronically. I've confirmed it was received, but I'm not sure I sent the right file. I requested confirmation on it, but am still waiting. In the meantime, in the mail I received the SAS-postcard I sent to Scriptapalooza; which confirms they received the piece. Yeah!
Our first audience for previews is this Saturday...already. I'm very excited to get this out there and to start performing it for a mixed audience. The kids were great, but I'm anxious to see how it plays to all ages.
