A Few of My Thoughts on CTA
Chicago Transit Authority.
I waited in the 20 degree weather; this early evening; for a bus. It was about a 20 minute wait.
Without fail; when I stand at an intersection; waiting for a bus; the opposite direction I am going; and the cross street that I am not waiting for; will have an enormous volume of bus traffic. Today; in my 20 minute wait (actually; now thinking; it was close to 25 minutes), there were 3 busses going opposite of what I needed; and on Clark (the cross street), there were about 6 total (both north and south). Is it just me? Tell me. I won't cry.
There are always those few moments; after about 15 minutes; where the debate begins to rage in my mind. Do I up and walk the remainder of my distance; or wait. Of course, I know that if my decision gets me walking; that the bus will show up a few milli-seconds later. By that time, I will have walked far enough away to not get the bus at the first stop and be too far away to make it to the next one. So, the ever-lasting battle wages on; stay or go?
I've nothing more to say. I appreciate when public transportation works, but when it sucks; it truly SUCKS!
